Excellent
February 6, 2008 - As it stands The Club is one of the finest examples of bringing the essence of arcade gaming to modern consoles and a game no adrenaline junkie should pass up.

February 5, 2008 - Overall, The Club is brilliantly immediate, logical and rewarding in ways that the PGR games always were and are, and it does for the third-person shooter what no one else has even bothered trying to do: moving it closer to the 2D shoot-'em-ups of old in a manner that appeals anew.

February 15, 2008 - The Club may not satisfy your daily dose of carnage, but what you will find is a challenging shooter that tries something new with a tired genre.

Good
March 10, 2008 - The Club features tight gunplay and a complex system of scorekeeping, but does so at the cost of player choice, variety, and innovation.

February 24, 2008 - Despite the flaws, The Club is very enjoyable. Its non-stop arcade action and intricate gameplay system will have you racking up a ridiculous amount of points in no time. It may not be the deepest shooting experience on the market, but it's still a lot of fun.

Good
February 20, 2008 - As a whole, The Club's single-player content just about works as an old-fashioned shooter that isn't shy about its old-school roots, but it suffers from a lack of variation in its level, weapon, and character design.

February 19, 2008 - The single-player portion of the game is entertaining, but the experience will be brief if you're not the type to obsess over high scores. If you're looking for much more than a few hours of fun single-player target shooting, you'll probably not want to pay the steep fee this club charges for membership.

Good
February 7, 2008 - The Club feels unlike anything else. Neither Halo, nor even BioShock, has the ability to make you feel like this game does. But you'll either love it for the adrenaline rush or hate it for the lack of compelling story and boring brown levels.

Good
February 28, 2008 - The Club is a lot like junk food-it initially tastes good but it won't leave you satisfied for long. Riding a 20-chain combo will get the adrenaline pumping, but putting in the time to memorize a level and climb the leader board ultimately never feels worth it.

Mediocre
February 19, 2008 - At the very least, this isn't the same space-marine-infested crap you've played a thousand times before. But it's also proof that just because something works in one genre doesn't mean it belongs in another.

February 22, 2008 - If you get into The Club, you'll find an arcade shooter with a twist that can be played obsessively in search of high scores. I didn't find the hook all that appealing and felt left with a glorified shooting gallery.
