June 26, 2007 - I lost track of how many times I voluntarily restarted from a checkpoint to keep one dopey übergremlin alive. Then again, any game that makes me want to restart -- rather than making me have to restart -- can't be all bad.

Good
June 21, 2007 - Overlord may remind the more experienced gamer of a mass of things, but it's only so identifiable as they're conventions which relatively few games have used successfully.

August 27, 2007 - Overlord a great play. It's got a great sense of humor and style. In these summer months when there's often not a lot to play, it's a real treat to get a game that effortlessly mixes style, challenge, and fun.

August 13, 2007 - With an uncommon premise and entertaining gameplay, Overlord provides a pleasant experience that is unique on the Xbox 360, but lacks the polish and technical flair that would have propelled it to classic status.

June 25, 2007 - If you can get past the wonky camera and are content to micromanage your minions, as well as the targeting system, then Overlord II is an ideal way to spend some of your spare time if you want to be a little evil.

July 6, 2007 - Overlord can be plenty of fun under the right circumstances. It's well worth playing the single-player campaign, if only to experience an irreverent take on the typical fantasy setting.

June 26, 2007 - While Overlord has some good ideas, its minor issues can be frustrating and time-consuming, and after a while the "puzzle solving" starts to feel a little repetitive.

July 2, 2007 - Overlord is an entertaining game that should keep you smiling for its duration, but certain control complexities and a distinct lack of evil keep it from being a truly great next-gen adventure.
Publication Quality: Mediocre

Mediocre
July 2, 2007 - Overlord is a "play at your own risk" title. If you're lucky enough to avoid the bugs, you'll find a fun game unlike any other on Xbox 360. If you do run head first into a game ending bug, don't say we didn't warn you.
