August 10, 2009 - Excellent - If you're a football fan and you don't have fun playing this game, well, guess what? You're not a football fan.
Ian Knott
September 21, 2009 - Excellent - The gameplay isn't going to get any better. But the progression of the series is no doubt headed down the path of making the game feel as much like controlling a live game as possible.
Mitchell Dyer
August 14, 2009 - Excellent - Even with the iffy AI and the unrealistic number of interceptions, Madden 10 is still a deeply involving experience. It's also evolved away from previous Madden installments, focusing your attention on actually performing on the field and making the superfluous details optional.
Kevin Miller
September 24, 2009 - Excellent - With online franchise, the Pro-Tak system, and gameplay mechanic improvements, gamers, whether hardcore football simulator addicts or casual gamers, will find themselves enjoying Madden 10 more than ever before.
August 10, 2009 - Excellent - In the end Madden 10 is the kind of game that I am willing to look past the shortcomings because what's good is really, really good. It's worth putting up with the faults in order to experience what works.
Gerald Villoria
August 12, 2009 - Excellent - While this latest effort has its share of missteps, it's still the best Madden in recent memory. Gameplay is king, and Madden NFL 10 is plain and simple a hell of a lot of fun to play. This is a must-have for football fans.
Ryan Olsen
August 15, 2009 - Excellent - More than ever before, Madden looks, feels and plays like any given Sunday. If you purchase one football game this decade, this is it.
August 10, 2009 - Excellent - Only a few gripes - ones that should be easily ironed out by next year - mar an otherwise golden Madden experience.
Dale Nardozzi
August 10, 2009 - Excellent - After enough snaps, it's safe to say that Madden 10 eclipses last-year's effort in content, realism and value. Madden 10 is a very complete football title worthy of its own bust-alongside Mr. Madden-in the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
Garnett Lee
August 10, 2009 - Good - After wondering since the advent of the HD generation if Madden would get serious about elevating its game to match its good looks, it's nice to see that Madden 10 takes a significant step in that direction.
Scott Jones
August 17, 2009 - Good - Madden NFL 10, like every installment, makes further strides toward looking as glossy and polished as any high-definition Sunday-afternoon football broadcast. Which could be to blame for the series' ongoing stagnation. Watching football and playing football are dramatically different, and over the last 21 years, EA seems to have forgotten that.
David Thomas
August 13, 2009 - Good - This year's Madden is the best ever, if by "best" we mean a game so capable and thorough at absorbing the joy of the real thing, like that soulless liquid Terminator.
Egon Superb
August 25, 2009 - Good - EA has put some effort into making the game play like the sport NFL fans the world over watch on Sundays. All the same, there is a lot to Madden that remains unchanged and, well, bad.
Michael D'Alonzo
August 10, 2009 - Good - Madden NFL 10 isn't perfect, but it's deeper, more challenging, and more realistic than ever before, and more so than nearly any other football game.
Matthew Kato
September 1, 2009 - Good - It may only be August, but with Madden this good, football is back. Finally.
Nick Kakolowski
August 25, 2009 - Good - The extensive gameplay improvements in this year's gridiron simulation make it clear that the series is very close to becoming that spectacular game that has eluded fans for so long.
Jesse Costantino
August 17, 2009 - Good - Madden 10's improvements also highlight just how rusty the A.I. has gotten over the years. Spit and polish have taken the series far over the last two decades, but this is the first sign that maybe a more substantial revision is due.
Giancarlo Varanini
August 12, 2009 - Good - There's a real sense that EA wants to get back to the fundamentals of football with Madden NFL 10, and many of the changes it has made in that respect are good ones. But for all of these improvements, there are seemingly an equal number of nagging setbacks, ranging from the frequency of turnovers to inconsistencies in AI-controlled defenses.
Richard Grisham
August 18, 2009 - Good - While Madden 10 is our favorite football game of this generation, it suffers from trying to do too much. We love the new gameplay engine but could've happily done without most of the presentation "improvements" that get more irritating with each game.
August 11, 2009 - Good - It's hard to argue with the general direction the series has taken, and most players will be happy with the end result, but if you're hoping for a game where true skill always determines the winner there is some disappointment to work through.
Steven Hopper
August 10, 2009 - Good - Madden NFL 10 introduces some pretty great changes to the on-field action. While there isn't a lot in the way of new game modes or content, fans will find this to be as close to real football as the series has ever gotten.
Nate Ahearn
August 7, 2009 - Good - Madden NFL 10 packs a lot of football under its 60 dollar price tag. While some of the modes don't perform as well as I'd like, every football fan will still be able to latch on to something for months of fun.
November 2, 2009 - Good - If you only ever tune into the Superbowl each year, the learning curve is going to be dramatic. Even with Madden's advice, a genuine, working knowledge of the different plays is key and will take a long, painful losing streak to learn them. If you're a crack NFL tactician already, though, this is the best gridiron sim yet.
Martin Gaston
September 3, 2009 - Good - EA Tiburon have created a better, more realistic game of American Football than Madden's of the past, but they've also elected to smear over the inherent gameplay cracks with an impeccably glossy, bombastic, unnecessary and undeniably Americanesque sheen.
Wesley Yin-Poole
August 14, 2009 - Good - Is Madden NFL 10 the best Madden game ever? Probably, although it seems like an impossible question to answer given the series has been running for at least 50 centuries. It's no doubt the most authentic. The biggest problem is how inaccessible it is.
Redmond Carolipio
October 4, 2009 - Good - For all of the things that Madden NFL '10 does right, it's certainly not the perfect experience. It's easily the finest incarnation of the series since the arrival of the 360 and PS3, and it signals the first true statement as to how the future of the series is going to be. It looks quite promising.
