February 13, 2012 - Excellent - Games theory is full of talk about the ways in which the story unspooling on-screen in cut-scenes and voiceovers isn't necessarily the real story, which is what happens in your mind as you play. Most games [...] are skewed towards the former. [...] Happy Action Theater tips the balance the other way and acknowledges that, at its purest level, play lives in the imagination.

February 2, 2012 - Good - None of the activities are particularly inventive, but I also wouldn't go so far to say they're boring, either. Enough of them are interesting that you probably won't regret buying Happy Action Theater for yourself. On the other hand, it should prove to be sufficiently engaging for kids.
April 2, 2012 - Good - It's inexpensive, and no, there really isn't much depth here, but I heartily enjoyed my time with it. It's a pure experience - the only thing that matters here is the joy of playing, and the simple fun of acting like an idiot with friends/family.
February 3, 2012 - Good - However you set the stage, Double Fine Happy Action Theater encourages play in the purest sense of the word. Its diverse and imaginative scenarios will delight children, and it's a great fit for social settings as a way of getting people on their feet and interacting with each other in a spirit of warm, uncompetitive fun.
February 1, 2012 - Good - Happy Action Theater is a great game for children with plenty of variety in almost every activity - each being different and exciting both visually and interactively. Although the entirety of the game can literally be seen in an hour or two, young gamers are sure to want to revisit their favorite version of their transformed room again and again, and at 800 Microsoft Points, it's well worth it.

February 1, 2012 - Good - Double Fine Productions are a trusted name in video game development for audiences both core and family. Tim Schafer and team extend that legacy with Double Fine Happy Action Theater, delivering a fun collection of playful diversions well worth the moderate asking price.
February 24, 2012 - Good - If you don't have young children then move along. There's nothing to see here. If you do though, you'll discover Happy Action Theatre to be one of the most enjoyable and inventive games in Kinect's current line-up.
February 1, 2012 - Good - Not every activity enthralls, and it's a brief overall affair with little incentive for repeated solo-play once you complete a couple of cycles. But Happy Action Theater is an absolute powder keg of a party experience, instilling childlike delight in nearly anyone that crosses its path while proving imaginative minds can still make inspired use of Kinect.
February 17, 2012 - Good - A nice experiment with some genuinely fun moments, and a great showcase for what Kinect can accomplish, but unless you have young kids or like to play with simple toys, Happy Action Theater won't do much for you.
