Critic Reviews
The following reviews are used to calculate the overall reception for this game. All applicable scores are converted to our simplified rating system based on the specifics offered by each publication or the tone of each review. You can read more about how we do this here.
August 11, 2009 - Good - If you can stifle your inner graphics goblin long enough to get a sense of what Brave has to offer, you might be surprised at just how engaging a well-polished PS2 port can be on 360. If only there could have been a 360 or PS3 version, Brave might have soared considerably higher.
August 23, 2009 - Poor - Brave is another attempt to revitalize the cartoony action adventure genre, but it fails in just about every aspect of the game. My only real motivation to finish the game was the big fat 500 point paycheck at the end; there were numerous points where I stopped having fun and just wanted to pack up and leave.
August 21, 2009 - Poor - Though it offers adequate adventure action, Brave: A Warrior's Tale shoots itself in the foot at the eleventh hour, and you should stay away to avoid becoming collateral damage.
August 25, 2009 - Poor - Instead of turning out a bigger and better iteration, Collision Studios has somehow transformed this last-gen holdover into a uniquely miserable platforming experience.

September 3, 2009 - Poor - There's a pretty good game here, hiding amongst the bugs, graphical issues, and poorly designed platforming sequences. It's called Brave: Search for Spirit Dancer, and you can find it for a very reasonable price for the PS2.
August 11, 2009 - Poor - Brave: A Warrior's Tale is a simple title meant for kids unfamiliar with the gaming world. As an introductory product -- an ultra light action-adventure -- Brave has far too many rotten bits and oddities to recommend.
August 16, 2009 - Poor - For a game that bills itself as a family game, there are creepy monsters and killing animals is something you have to do to progress. Other than that, Brave is basically a PS2 game with the ability to play on a 360 with no effort to upgrade or enhance the experience to even to average standards.
August 7, 2009 - Poor - If you want your kid to learn about Native American culture, make them watch PBS or something. If you want them to grow up with an appreciation for good video games, then keep them far far away from this title.
