Critic Reviews
The following reviews are used to calculate the overall reception for this game. All applicable scores are converted to our simplified rating system based on the specifics offered by each publication or the tone of each review. You can read more about how we do this here.
March 1, 2010 - Excellent - Dr Ned and Moxxi's Underdome may have been about busting Borderlands out into strange new splinters, but Knoxx sees the team returning to the core experience and quietly tinkering. There's more polish but there's also a sense that you're seeing the future of the franchise take shape, and that makes for a dazzling combination.

March 3, 2010 - Excellent - The overall attention in the Secret Armory is impressive, and the quirks that made the main game so memorable are definitely present here. From the consistently good voice acting to the appearance of familiar characters, the Secret Armory is bubbling over with Borderlands' trademark style.
February 25, 2010 - Excellent - Rekindling is what The Secret Armory of General Knoxx does best as it embraces all the elements that make Borderlands so fun and addictive. And, it will likely keep you going for at least 10 hours. Whether you've just unlocked The Vault or maxed out twice over, The Secret Armory is an excellent reason to journey back to Pandora.
February 28, 2010 - Good - As DLC goes, Knoxx is one of the best I've seen ever since the trend of DLC started. It's not the best add-on I've ever played, as that would probably rightfully go to a higher-priced traditional expansion pack, but as DLC goes, it's damn good.
March 2, 2010 - Good - The Secret Armory of General Knoxx is another fine example of how to do DLC right, and it's certain to ensure players continue to invest time in Borderlands long after they grow weary of the original content.
March 4, 2010 - Good - All in all, The Secret Armory of General Knoxx is a vast improvement over its two older DLC siblings. It proves that Gearbox really is listening to its fanbase, and despite the annoyance of travel from zone to zone I was either laughing, looting, or blasting the whole way through.
March 12, 2010 - Good - Make no mistake, this game is now a Franchise with a capital "F" and if through the playing of these DLC packs I can see how a game goes from backwater planet to galactic empire, then I'm happy to pay for the privilege.
March 2, 2010 - Good - The Secret Armory of General Knoxx succeeds in not just adding to the Borderlands experience, but improving it in almost every area. There's a ton of fresh content for just 10 bucks. If you're still playing Borderlands, or have been looking for a reason to jump back in, don't pass it up.
March 16, 2010 - Good - At $10, General Knoxx goes beyond most other DLC packages. It feels larger and gives you more to do than most other paid add-ons out there, and in spite of its handful of shortcomings, it feels like a great deal for fans of the main game.
February 25, 2010 - Good - If you enjoyed Borderlands and still wanted more, then definitely download The Secret Armory of General Knoxx. The main story line is still a blast even if you go it alone and some of the side quests will challenge the most hardened team of Boarderlands veterans.
August 7, 2010 - Good - If you're still playing Borderlands, you should definitely purchase The Secret Armory of General Knoxx, which is available for PS3, Xbox 360 and PC for $10. The increased level cap, new vehicles, new weapons, and enemies with high difficulty levels will not only give you more to do in the game but also provide a very challenging path to complete the missions.
