July 13, 2010 - Good - Blacklight: Tango Down is a great game brought down by a few small issues. But the core action, steady stream of unlocks and smart mechanics combine to make this a great online multiplayer shooter that shouldn't be overlooked.

September 1, 2010 - Good - With the seemingly limitless customization options. Blacklight will satisfy those fed up with COD's Prestige system. At $15, Blacklight: Tango Down is a definite value for casual-hardcore FPS fans looking for a break before COD: Black Ops hits. [Issue #8, p.54]
July 14, 2010 - Good - If you're a single-player gamer there's nothing for you here, but if going online to show off your skills is what you're all about, you'll probably get your money's worth out of Blacklight: Tango Down.
July 19, 2010 - Good - If you demand a fulfilling, big budget experience and a butter smooth matchmaking experience, then you should probably stick to the big brand names. If, however, you're just looking for a little down and dirty online action and you don't mind waiting a little between rounds, then Blacklight: Tango Down just might be your huckleberry.
July 27, 2010 - Good - Blacklight: Tango Down is a quite solid shooter that combines entertaining gameplay with some unique features and throws it all together into a commendable multiplayer package. It has a few flaws here and there, but ultimately it is a surprisingly large amount of fun stuffed into a budget-priced package.
July 14, 2010 - Good - For multiplayer shooting on a budget, you can't go wrong with Blacklight: Tango Down. You easily get more than your $15 worth here, and the gameplay offers a change of pace for those who are getting a little burned out on the multiplayer in full-price games like Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.
July 13, 2010 - Good - If you're bored with what's currently on the table, the visuals are certainly pleasing if you're into the whole dystopian future Russia fetish, the familiar controls are very easy to master, combat is fluid and fast-paced, and the customization options and wide range of player modes keep the game continually interesting.
July 8, 2010 - Good - Blacklight: Tango Down is a solid, if not particularly inspired, first-person shooter. What really sells it is the price tag. For $15 bucks you get seven adversarial modes, 12 maps, and four cooperative Black Ops missions.
July 19, 2010 - Good - Problems aside, Blacklight: Tango Down is a superb example of what is possible with XBLA titles. The triple-A quality graphics and slick, speedy multiplayer action brings a new level of polish to Xbox Live Arcade.
August 5, 2010 - Good - Blacklight: Tango Down turns out to be too much fun for the slowness of the matchmaking system to prove too much of an obstacle. The clever level design, quick pace of play and good variety of play modes will prove to be enough to get most FPS fans hooked.
July 12, 2010 - Mediocre - Though the shooting itself seems fine, almost everything surrounding the gunplay in Blacklight comes off as amateur. Still, at the same cost as a single map-pack for Modern Warfare 2, Blacklight makes a pretty strong case for itself based on price alone. Just know that this is one instance where you get exactly what you pay for.
July 9, 2010 - Mediocre - [Blacklight: Tango Down is] just not that special. With a few patches and some better maps, it could be an adequate diversion, but the world simply doesn't need another passable multiplayer shooter whose only selling point is how little it costs compared to "real" games.
Dennis Scimeca
July 16, 2010 - Mediocre - Blacklight: Tango Down simply doesn't do enough differentiate itself from other modern FPS multiplayer titles currently on the market.
July 20, 2010 - Mediocre - While some will love the frantic run-and-gun action despite the flaws, it's not an online title that will hook you in for hours at a time like Battlefield 1943. Similar to a submachine gun, Tango Down is fast, lightweight, and best enjoyed in short bursts.
July 12, 2010 - Mediocre - Generic FPS, clunky AI, bolt-on storyline and multiplayer that often misses the mark: it's a sloppy development all-round. Blacklight isn't bereft of shooter merits and is keenly priced too, but when the market is this crowded that just isn't anywhere near enough.
