August 16, 2007 - Taken as a whole, as an experience that's richly and utterly complete, and one that engages the player in a constant dialogue, BioShock is virtually unassailable.
August 16, 2007 - Not only does BioShock boast the most staggeringly beautiful environments you've ever lain eyes on in a video game, but adds infinite depth to them through the absolutely astonishingly well-crafted audio that accompanies the experience.
August 23, 2007 - BioShock provides gamers with one of those truly great first person shooter campaigns, blending creative gameplay with a unique artistic vision, driven by a thought provoking storyline.
August 29, 2007 - BioShock is one of those rare titles where considerable attention was placed on every facet of development, resulting in an extremely polished, fun, and engaging adventure.
August 20, 2007 - BioShock pretty much has it all. The first-person shooter's great looking, has an engrossing storyline, a perfect balance of action and exploration and a totally customizable combat system that can be described as nothing less than video game rapture.
August 20, 2007 - BioShock creates an amazing world that you'll want to explore from top to bottom and a compelling mystery that slowly comes together as you play.
August 16, 2007 - Put simply, BioShock is an unparalleled achievement. No other game comes even remotely close to it in terms of raw emotional connection.
August 15, 2007 - The only glaring weakness we can find in BioShock is that it may be too unusual, too original, too artistic and too genius to be embraced by the general public.
August 15, 2007 - What really sets [Bioshock] apart is how it forces the player to dig deep inside and make some difficult decisions. Few games affect the player on this level, and hopefully this is a harbinger of things to come within the industry.
August 16, 2007 - BioShock stands as a monolithic example of the convergence of entertaining gameplay and an irresistibly sinister, engrossing storyline that encompasses a host of multifaceted characters.
August 30, 2007 - To put it simply, BioShock is a brilliant game; one that sets the proverbial benchmark not only for first-person adventure titles, but also for all future games to come.

Bioshock=GOTY. Build a narrative around the concepts and philosophies of Ayn Rand and I'm sold. Any developer that has the insight to use such classic dystopian literature as a building block is golden in my book. That the game plays like buttah is an added bonus.

This is my Game of the Year so far (only threat is Mass Effect). My favorite way to kill Big Daddies: make them a security target and let the flying gunners make short work of them. One thing I haven't done yet: Make Big Daddies fight each other.
