August 21, 2009 - Excellent - Batman: Arkham Asylum is a Batman: The Animated Series movie where you yourself are in control of Batman and his sheer awesomeness, and that ultimately makes it the best Batman game to date.
August 31, 2009 - Excellent - It's obvious that Arkham was created with reverence, genuine craft, and love. There's a rare, considered quality behind everything on the disc, which makes this an absolute must-play.
September 3, 2009 - Excellent - Minor gripes aside, Arkham Asylum is a remarkable achievement both in design and in finally giving Bat fans the game they've been waiting for.
August 21, 2009 - Excellent - Batman Arkham Asylum is a hugely impressive, gem of a licensed game. Pick it up without hesitation and hope that the Dark Knight returns again. Soon.

August 25, 2009 - Excellent - [The developers have] honored the source material with a world that feels weighted with Bat-history and Bat-aesthetic. Arkham Asylum is a blueprint for dispelling a curse. The next folks to mess up a Batman game won't have any excuses.
August 21, 2009 - Excellent - Arkham Asylum finds room for every major aspect of Batman's enduring appeal, and it does so in a game compelling enough to work even without its masked star. Fans of the caped crusader really shouldn't hesitate - this isn't just the best grown-up Batman game, it's the best superhero game, bar none.
September 1, 2009 - Excellent - Batman: Arkham Asylum is this year's BioShock, not just from the connection established with the world, but from its ability to innovate where new ideas are needed, and moreover, deliver an adventure unlike any other.
September 14, 2009 - Excellent - This atmospheric, action-packed romp through the nuthouse allows you to truly play like Batman. Very few video games provide that sense of immersion, so this one is definitely worth your time and money.
August 26, 2009 - Excellent - With fantastic voice acting, gorgeous graphics, and a well-written plot, what else could you want from a game? Great for hardcore Batmaniacs as well as gamers looking for a solid action/adventure game, I'm happy to declare Batman: Arkham Asylum as the best Batman game ever.
August 24, 2009 - Excellent - [Arkham Asylum] is so good that we're declaring it an easy 'Best of' contender for 2009.
August 26, 2009 - Excellent - Simply put, if you're a Batman fan, and don't have Arkham Asylum yet; save your allowance up, trade some games in, Goozex it: the bottom line is somehow, you need to buy this game.
August 24, 2009 - Excellent - Regardless of whether you're getting sucked into the Story mode or competing for high scores in the Challenge mode, Batman: Arkham Asylum does an outstanding job of letting you be Batman.
August 24, 2009 - Excellent - If you're a Batman fan, this is the best treatment the World's Greatest Detective has ever received in videogame form -- and if you're not a Batman fan, Arkham Asylum will change that. This is how to make a licensed game.
August 21, 2009 - Excellent - Not only a brilliantly authentic presentation of its subject matter but a tremendous game in its own right, Batman: Arkham Asylum is a big, clever and finely crafted experience which propels Rocksteady immediately into the realm of triple-A developers. This year's BioShock. That's what it is.
September 4, 2009 - Excellent - Batman: Arkham Asylum is an excellent game, not only by virtue of being the best Batman game ever and a great action game, but by being a well-designed and thought-out piece of fiction that adds to the Batman mythos.
September 1, 2009 - Excellent - Batman: Arkham Asylum's minor issues only serve to remind you how strong the rest of the game is. Its different elements mesh together in a way that keeps it feeling fresh over the course of the game, and the story moves in such a way that even players who aren't big Batman fans will come away satisfied.
August 21, 2009 - Excellent - Batman: Arkham Asylum is the greatest comic book videogame of all time. This is an adult Dark Knight story that is well-told, packs some truly fun gameplay elements, has topnotch voice talent, and feels like it's part of Batman canon.
October 18, 2011 - Excellent - This game is worth the wait. The graphics are immaculate and the gameplay superb. Just prowling the streets of Arkham City, taking down thugs and solving dozens of Riddler puzzles scattered around Gotham generates hours of fun. The main storyline is compelling, offering a wealth of different environments to explore and the game is packed with side-missions to keep you distracted.
August 21, 2009 - Excellent - In spite of [the] brief transgressions, Arkham Asylum is still a brilliant experience. No other license-shackled developer has understood their subject quite as well as Rocksteady, and this is without a doubt the definitive representation of the Dark Knight.
August 25, 2009 - Excellent - With writing and acting on par with or exceeding the best story-driven gaming has to offer, extensive extras including a robust Challenge Mode and a soundtrack that washes it all down true to dark form, you simply couldn't ask for a better Batman game, period.
August 21, 2009 - Excellent - The entire production reeks of quality from the stellar voice work to the jaw-dropping visuals and intuitive control system - truly this is the Batman game we've all been waiting for.
August 21, 2009 - Excellent - Rewarding and engrossing in equal measure, the entire production reeks of quality from the stellar voice work to the jaw-dropping visuals and intuitive control system. Truly this is the Batman game that everybody's been waiting for.
August 21, 2009 - Excellent - Despite the minor flaws I feel it has, it's definitely one of this summer's shiny spots and a recommended purchase to carry you into the pre-holiday game-release frenzy.
August 27, 2009 - Excellent - Whether you fancy skulking in the shadows, smashing slow motion fists in into a goon's skull, or simply using some cool gadgets, you can do no wrong with what is Eidos' best game in years.
September 1, 2009 - Excellent - Batman: Arkham Asylum works very well as a doggedly single-player experience, a nuthouse in a box that transports you for 15 hours or so into a fully realized other world.
August 21, 2009 - Good - Ultimately, Batman: Arkham Asylum succeeds because it's a great game, with or without the license. It seamlessly transitions between beat-‘em-up brawler, intense stealth action, and exploration-friendly adventure without missing a beat.
August 24, 2009 - Good - The real question is, is this a great game? Well, one of the main signs of a great game is whether when you finish it do you want to play it again? For me, the answer is definitely yes.
August 21, 2009 - Good - Batman: Arkham Asylum doesn't quite deliver on all of its big ideas, and thus dodges the highest of accolades, but its rousing peaks make its low points more than bearable. Its best moments of dazzling showmanship easily qualify as must-see entertainment, even if they're not sufficient to make the game as a whole a must-play.
September 17, 2009 - Good - I didn't like spending most of the game in detective vision. I despise the lack of creativity in the boss fights and enemy variety. In the face of the rest of the game, it's hard to care too much. It's expertly tuned to keep you engaged in the fascinatingly dark world, and gives a real, true sense of what it might be like to be Batman.
August 21, 2009 - Good - [Batman: Arkham Asylum] triumphs where most other superhero games and other types of licensed action games fail: it makes you feel like the lead character. It makes you feel like The Batman.
