Good
July 26, 2007 - Final Fantasy II lacks the groundbreaking features that Final Fantasy III offer for the Nintendo DS, but it satisfies with its top-notch presentation and classic gameplay.

Good
July 26, 2007 - For those who are interested in some slightly-skewed nostalgia and the freedom to manipulate their characters' skills on a microscopic level, Final Fantasy II is a perfect time sink of RPG pleasure.

Good
July 27, 2007 - The game has aged well enough to be enjoyable for RPG nuts for a first play-through, though players who've walked this ground before may not find much reason to set foot inside Palamacia a second time.

July 26, 2007 - No doubt Square Enix already has plans for a fully-3D remake of the game brewing somewhere in its massive, jealously guarded list of ways to milk the life out of the Final Fantasy series. Still, if you've gotta play FFII, this is definitely the version to get. For now, anyway.

August 3, 2007 - Final Fantasy II: Anniversary Edition is a faithful remake of what was one of the most flawed games in the series. It's always fun to take a nostalgic look into the past, but the blemishes make this a tougher pill to swallow than its predecessor.

July 26, 2007 - For anyone who can see past Square Enix's flagship branding, there isn't any one aspect of Final Fantasy II that pushes it into the "must try" zone.

Poor
October 22, 2007 - Final Fantasy II was a poor videogame in 1988 and no amount of spit and polish will perform the necessary shifts to its foundations to produce a good one in 2007.

August 18, 2007 - At forty dollars, Final Fantasy II Anniversary Edition should be avoided by everyone except the most ardent Final Fantasy purists.
