March 19, 2008 - The simplicity and the gambling factor of the [Digital Mind Wave] are what make the gameplay so appealing. It's fast, easy, addictive and perfectly suited to a portable experience.

June 20, 2008 - The familiar soundtrack, environments and fleshing out of back story will delight the game's fanatical army of followers. More importantly, however, is that Crisis Core's overall quality makes it a must buy for all PSP owners, whether you're into your materia or not.

March 19, 2008 - From the faithful 3D reconstruction of Midgar's slums to the fateful standoff in the Mako reactor, Crisis Core does a better job of putting players in FFVII's world than even the original game did. And it manages to be a worthy experience in its own right rather than an empty bit of filler riding on a classic's coattails.

June 23, 2008 - In six months' time Crisis Core will be remembered not for being a classic that changed the landscape, demographic and influences of videogames the world over like its forebear once did. Rather, it will be remembered for being a well-produced PSP curio, the best Final Fantasy VII spin-off for certain, but the best of a rotten bunch.

April 9, 2008 - Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII isn't nearly as good as the game it's based upon, but it's still a fun ride that's exponentially better if you care about the original.

March 28, 2008 - [Crisis Core is] obviously a game for fans, and it succeeds, but it's also a good game for a portable platform that anyone can get into.

May 24, 2008 - If you just want a game that pushes your nostalgia buttons, Crisis Core will do that. If you want something more though, there's not much else worth seeing here.
