Critic Reviews
The following reviews are used to calculate the overall reception for this game. All applicable scores are converted to our simplified rating system based on the specifics offered by each publication or the tone of each review. You can read more about how we do this here.
February 1, 2012 - Good - Dying is one of the essential parts of old school gaming. Just like jumping, shooting, breaking boxes, electronic beats, and bosses. And, if that's the kind of platform game you want, that's the kind of platform game Zack Zero is.

February 1, 2012 - Poor - There's no charm, save for the enemy designs and certain environments, and no sense of identity. The game alternates between being an unexciting, stale, middling affair, and being a somewhat broken game that hits some remarkably low lows.
January 25, 2012 - Poor - Zack Zero lacks the appeal and ingenuity found in many other downloadable platformers. At $12.99, Zack Zero is overpriced, underdeveloped, and outclassed.
February 3, 2012 - Poor - Zack Zero's elemental platforming and bright colors might grab your attention, but its inconsistent gameplay and embarrassing glitches will waste your time and money. Little redeeming value lies here, especially when you suffer through the poorly-written story and awful narration.
