Critic Reviews
The following reviews are used to calculate the overall reception for this game. All applicable scores are converted to our simplified rating system based on the specifics offered by each publication or the tone of each review. You can read more about how we do this here.
February 14, 2009 - Excellent - You'll fire thousands of rounds in hundreds of white-knuckled shootouts facing everything from soldiers to grotesques to specters, and tromp around in a totally bad-ass mech suit. Most importantly, you'll love every minute of it.
February 10, 2009 - Excellent - I can't recommend Monolith's sequel highly enough. It might not have the jaw-dropping visuals to rival Killzone 2, but it's a hugely satisfying shooter that'll have you clinging onto that controller or mouse throughout its tension-filled campaign.
February 11, 2009 - Good - If you're a fan of the FPS genre, the FEAR series has always been and will continue to be worth playing for the ambience and AI alone.
February 20, 2009 - Good - Playing F.E.A.R. 2 is a worthwhile way to pass the time while we wait for the inevitable next installment.

February 10, 2009 - Good - What's not to buy into with a scare around every corner, graphic set pieces to battle through, and a tight, subtly-paced script. We can wholeheartedly say that FEAR 2 is gruesomely good fun.
February 10, 2009 - Good - With F.E.A.R. 2, Monolith has crafted a solid follow-up to F.E.A.R. It's a good shooter, bordering on great at times, but it's not as groundbreaking as its predecessor.
