March 17, 2010 - Excellent - With its roughly 10-hour campaign, new multiplayer, and additional units, the $30 price point feels just right for Chaos Rising. After the hilarious disaster that was the first Dawn of War's Soulstorm expansion, it's nice to see such a quality package.

March 22, 2010 - Excellent - Chaos Rising is a great first expansion, and while new players looking to try the single-player should start with the original game, it's an instant purchase for those of you looking for some good online RTS mayhem.

March 5, 2010 - Excellent - It's games like this that make Relic one of the best PC developers operating today. When I reviewed the outstanding Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War II, my chief criticism of the campaign was the excessive repetition of simple "fight from point A to point B, then fight a boss" missions. Chaos Rising, the first stand-alone expansion, addresses that issue and then some.

March 8, 2010 - Excellent - Relic has once again gazed into the heart of the RPG and changed their single player RTS for the better. Throw in the whole host of new multiplayer content and you've got the best expansion we've played in a long time. If you've played and enjoyed DOWII you have no excuse not to get Chaos Rising - it's simply more of what you love.

March 10, 2010 - Excellent - In almost all respects, it's a better game than [Dawn of War II], and from a campaign perspective, the best since Warcraft III. Heart-pounding, cool, and relentless, Chaos Rising is a must-buy. If you're not already immersed in Relic's Dawn of War universe, there's no better time to orbital drop in.

March 10, 2010 - Good - Chaos Rising is about as generous an expansion as you could possibly want. The single-player mode could stand to be a lot bigger, but it's gone to incredible lengths to address the main complaints about Dawn of War II.

April 1, 2010 - Good - Dawn of War II was both an excellent sequel and a great new look at the Warhammer universe, and Chaos Rising is the ideal expansion for a game that pushes the franchise in a different direction. Sure, it's a bit short and some of the ideas behind Corruption can seem odd, but as an experiment to see where the series should go next, this is a very playable, rewarding trip to the dark side.

March 12, 2010 - Good - Chaos Rising is good news for DoW II multi fans. The fundamental experience isn't noticeably different, but the breadth and variety that Chaos Rising adds are solid improvements to an already good game.

March 18, 2010 - Good - If you were not taken by Dawn of War II's unique take on the RTS genre, then this will probably not change your mind. However if you loved it, or perhaps enjoyed Company of Heroes but haven't given Dawn of War a try, this could be a more affordable entry point for you to get hooked on this wonderful series.

March 19, 2010 - Good - I'm still a bit miffed at the lack of any Slaaneshi units for the Chaos side and that the campaign still has those annoying boss fights, but Chaos Rising is a worthy expansion to Dawn of War II all the same because, really, Warhammer without Chaos is sort of like Star Wars without the Emperor or Middle-earth without Sauron or the NFL without the Steelers.

March 16, 2010 - Good - Chaos Rising is just about everything you'd expect from a Dawn of War expansion, boasting terrific gameplay, visuals, and effects, and adding a great new campaign, a well-developed new faction, and new war gear, heroes, and multiplayer options.

March 12, 2010 - Good - While the addition of Chaos to the roster of races does nothing to change my opinion of the underwhelming multiplayer, the single-player campaign has all the attention to story and brutal fighting I seek from a 40K game.

April 9, 2010 - Good - Dawn of War II: Chaos Rising is an excellent example of a standalone expansion pack. It contributes to the core game in all major categories without going the extra mile that would befit a true sequel. If you enjoyed Dawn of War II, this one's a no-brainer and there's really no reason why any RTS aficionado shouldn't own both.

April 7, 2010 - Good - Chaos Rising is a big, challenging slice of realtime strategy that the latest Command & Conquer 4 has tried to emulate. The really annoying thing is that is could have been even better.

March 17, 2010 - Good - If you like Dawn of War II, you'll like Chaos Rising. All the great things about the core game are preserved here and the new Chaos Marines content is fantastic. The story's great, the twist is surprising, and the tactical choices are consistently interesting.

March 21, 2010 - Good - The team at Relic have spent years polishing and refining their current mould and, despite some high-profile attempts at imitating the formula, are clearly the champions of the engaging niche they've created.
