August 9, 2010 - Good - NFSW is unlikely to set either the racing or MMO world alight. However, for PC owners usually deprived of this genre entirely, it's a welcome addition and well worth trying out just to see how much of your time and money you fancy spending on mastering it.

July 28, 2010 - Good - There's a lot to be said for those few MMOs that allow cross-pollination of in-game and real-world currencies. As far as we're concerned this is a very real part of what creates, builds and cements communities around a game, and it's something EA really need to address to give Need For Speed World a good chance of long-term success.

August 4, 2010 - Mediocre - There are certain things the game does right, like providing an incentive to complete a race even when in last place. And, under the right circumstances, the game can be really fun... until you realize you're faced with such a long road to reach the next level and few ways to get there.
Alan Bradley
August 3, 2010 - Mediocre - Need for Speed World is a competent arcade racing game made by people that know a thing or two about making just those kinds of games. The problem is that it's all very rote, all content we've played before in better games, and all the promise seeded in that term, MMO, goes unfulfilled.
August 13, 2010 - Mediocre - Need for Speed World is a slow crawl toward new tracks and cars, and at this point, its design offers more rewards for players that stick to what's free in lieu of checking out the paid content. The experience becomes a monotonous grind before you get anywhere near the level 10 cap for free players, so put some time in before you slap down 20 bucks.

August 6, 2010 - Mediocre - Need for Speed World is an online racer masquerading as an MMO, where there is really very little player interaction at all. The open world is a glorified queuing system, and there is far too much grinding between upgrades, and far too little difference between the upgrades themselves.
July 29, 2010 - Poor - Perhaps in six to nine months time, when the game's been given the content it should obviously have had at launch, perhaps it will make use of its engine. For now this is echoingly empty, madly repetitive, and often infuriating. Back up the content lorry, empty its load, and then we'll come back.
