The following reviews are used to calculate the overall reception for this game. All applicable scores are converted to our simplified rating system based on the specifics offered by each publication or the tone of each review. You can read more about how we do this here.
February 8, 2011 - Excellent - If you're looking to carve up more Necromorphs or just need convincing that the iPad can compete with the big boys, invest the ten space bucks on this killer app.
January 26, 2011 - Excellent - Dead Space is the best game EA has released for iOS devices, and I wouldn't hesitate to call it the best 3D action game on the iPhone. $6.99 is pricey "for an iPhone game," but compared to what you'd have to pay for it on any other platform, it's an unbelievable bargain.

January 26, 2011 - Excellent - When it comes to Dead Space, there really wasn't anything I could think of that was missing. The game provides a genuine Dead Space experience while simultaneously raising the bar for triple A titles on the iPhone.
January 24, 2011 - Excellent - Dead Space for iOS is as true to the console version as we had hoped it would be and then some. It's a tough, visceral shooter that packs scares and thrills in spades. Our initial run-through lasted about four hours, but with a "New Game +" and hard mode unlocked, we've still got plenty of aliens left to dismember.
January 24, 2011 - Good - Dead Space has good controls, great visuals, and a fun story. It may repeat itself a little too much, but the blood-soaked ride never feels bloated. While I preferred it on iPad for the bigger screen, it's also a fun iPhone play. Dead Space fans are well-served by this download.
February 9, 2011 - Good - Dead Space HD may be a shorter experience than Dead Space 2, but it's in no way less enjoyable. The iPad touch screen is put to superb use here, delivering a control method every bit as functional as its console counterpart. It's proof - if proof were still needed - that the iPad is a viable player in the handheld gaming market.
January 25, 2011 - Good - Issues take some of the shine off - EA Mobile's continued snubbing of Game Center, and combat scenarios near the end of the game that fail to provide you with enough ammunition, for example - though Dead Space still manages to be enjoyable.
March 2, 2011 - Good - Dead Space HD nails the look and feel of the console games. Excellent sound design, which allows you to hear every little noise, helps sell the horror. Dark, moody environments brim with little details like flickering lights, although the level design becomes very repetitive as the game unfolds.
