February 12, 2012 - Excellent - For such a little title, I wasn't expecting to pour so much time and effort into Sakura Samurai. From its simple story yet compelling tactical gameplay to its gorgeous graphics and controls, I was hooked. This is possibly one of the best downloadable titles on the eShop, one that will draw players in with its ever-increasing depth.
February 2, 2012 - Excellent - The RPG elements - care of the items, sword upgrades and delightfully populated villages - further enrich the experience. If you're a 3DS owner, don't hesitate - download Sakura Samurai now, and begin your journey to Dark Moon Castle.
February 2, 2012 - Good - While it may not be the prettiest game, Sakura Samurai's combat is impressively designed, and there's enough pull to the campaign to keep you trekking along to the end. It's a reasonably short but fulfilling quest that offers some good replay value for those seeking mastery over their virtual swords.
February 6, 2012 - Mediocre - The repetitive grinding stretches a cool combat concept thin, and harshly takes away any feeling of accomplishment. It's a shame that the harsh penalties feel so unbalanced, transforming Sakura from a visually charming adventure into a repetitive and often unfair endurance run.
