I'd just like to quickly bring attention to a couple of features that go primarily unused on the site. If you have an account, you may be pleased to find out that you can do the following:
Add User ReviewsNot many seem to know this, but we do permit user reviews - just not for games. There's too much fanboy nonsense commonly associated with feedback of this nature, so we allow users to review publications and authors instead.
To do this, you'll need an account. If you have one, you can go to any publication or author page, scroll down to user reviews, click the link provided, and fill out the simple form. You can then assign a Poor, Mediocre, or Good rating and provide a brief description about what you like or dislike about an outlet or writer. The average of these ratings is what determines how much influence a publication has over a game's critical reception.
All user reviews are moderated, which means that one of our staff will look it over before it goes live to the site. So long as you provide constructive (and accurate) feedback, there should be no problems. You should check out
Cubit's IGN review for a good example of how to do this.
Track Publications and AuthorsIf you have an account on the site, you can also track individual publications and authors. This is great if you don't want to bother writing a user review, as you can filter reviews from only the sources you're interested in. Calculations are dynamic as well, which means that reception ratings will differ based on who you've chosen to include. When you're logged in, check out the
tracking page to get started.
